At first, the thought of climbing over the wall was really scary, especially on the first day. The scariest part was being carried from the first wall to the second, not because of the people carrying us but just because of the fear of falling. After we actually did it it was actually really fun and not at all as hard as it looked. The second day was a bit more difficult but since we had already gotten over the initial fear I didnt think it was as scary. Overall the experience was really fun!
The first day was REALLY scary, especially the part where your feet were in their hands and you had to balance while reaching the wall. The second day was not as bad because I already knew how it felt to climb over and everthing and also because the position going from the wall to the boxes was a lot more secure. I was terrified the first day so it was really helpful that people were shouting out encouragement and giving tips on how to do it. -yelin ha.
Lifting/Carrying people wasn't too bad, might have lost a bit of hair with the iron grip some people were using but really beyond that it was no problem. A bit of fun, seeing as it's the only climbing we've done so far.
I didn't think that getting over the wall was scary, but the physical contact made me a little uncomfortable. I'm not used to being so close to people I don't know very well, but I've accepted that that is a big part of this class so I will have to get over it. -lizzy fisk
On the first day, the big wall looked pretty intimidating to climb the higher wall, but at the same time it looked fun! So I volunteered to be one of the first few people to go over. The biggest challenge was to trust Tim and Erik because they were the ones carrying me to the higher wall. It was pretty scary for a few seconds and then I trusted Alaina to hold my hand to help me get onto the wall.
At first i wasn't sure how we'd all make it over the wall, especially the reverse way. But once we came up with a plan it seemed pretty easy and it was actually pretty fun. I loved how our class was able to find a way to make everyone comfortable with getting over the wall; I think that says something huge about our class. This activity required us to all come together and encourage and trust each other and I think we did a great job of that, especially on the second day.
I remember thinking that the wall was very intimidating when I first saw it on the first day. The hardest part was having to trust our classmates who volunteered to help us over. For me, there was always the fear of falling. But almost everyone got over the wall successfully thanks to their efforts. The second day was much easier because the wall wasn't as intimidating anymore. I think our entire class really came together to help each other over come their fears and be encouraging throughout the entire process.
I kind of regret not going the first day just because I was scared and whatever else. The hardest part for me was trusting my classmates not to drop me and actually getting me over the wall. I'm so happy that Friday I got over the wall reversed. A little class push wasn't a bad thing(:
On the first day that we were told we had to climb over the wall I was a little nervous. I had to put my trust in my classmates that they were going to be able to get me to the wall. Once I got to the wall I had to have confidence in myself that I would be able to pull myself up and climb down the wall. The second day however I was not nervous at all. I just wanted to be one of the first to go over because if I had waited longer I probably would have psyched myself out. Overall this activity was very fun and I am glad that the whole class participated in it.
Personally I thought it was a fun activity. I know other people had issues with this activity by not wanting to trust others or just no wanting to go over the wall. I think incouraging one another to do this help some of us. Then when we all came together to help those who were still uncomfortable with this activity I was really proud of our class. I think overall this activity went really well.
On the first day, I was definitely nervous climbing the wall however once I calmed down and trusted the people who were carrying me, it became easy and really fun. I think our class did an awesome job helping each other out and I think we really bonded as a class.
The first try definitely had some weak points but there were also many strong points. I think that everyone did a good job encouraging each other and helping those who were a little more scared to get over and trust in their classmates to keep the safe. I think that the second day really brought everyone together more as a class. We were able to get everyone over the wall and come up with an alternative so that no one was uncomfortable going over. I think that this activity really helped bring us together.
Looking back, climbing over the wall was actually pretty fun! However, I remember the first day I was nervous about falling or not having enough upper body strength to lift myself over the wall. It turned out to be so much easier than I imagined, especially with the help of classmates' encouragements. I'm really glad we were able to do this activity because it really helped our class come together and bond. ~Marlisa Wang
The first day of climbing over the wall was scary because I have to be on the supporters hands and take balance on them and also I have to trust them. When most people are climbing up and get the other side of wall I thought its going to be okay but when I get there I just feel maybe I will fall of even thou I was trusting them. But after everybody get over it I feel thanks to their help. The second day I thought it was easier to get over and also the way what we did was making class to be all together to help each other. I think this was a good and successful activity for us as class.
I was for sure worried the first day. Not about having to climb the wall, but more the fact of my knee and not being sure how it would be since it is a little weak still and I haven't done anything like that since having my surgery. I went towards the end and got to see the encouragement everyone gave to each person which was really great! I think it was really good that we listened to each other to adjust to make it easier on some people. The second day was so much fun! I think it really showed our classes true colors and brought us closer together.
At first when I heard we were going to have to climb over the wall, I had no idea how it was going to work! Then, I started to get scared when I thought about people carrying me to the wall and basically pushing me over. Even though I was nervous, I am glad I pushed myself to do it. It turned out to be pretty fun and not that hard after all! I was glad our gym class was so supportive of each other.
The first day, I was a little nervous. I'm not really scared of heights but trusting people is difficult for me. After watching about half of the class go, I was a lot more comfortable with being carried over. The second day was a lot easier for me personally since I had already done something similar and had had fun doing it. I was really proud of our class the second day for being so awesome and supportive!
Climbing over the wall was actually pretty fun. Letting myself trust my classmates was probably the most difficult thing.... but once I let go, I just did it and enjoyed the activity. Watching everybody go before me was also another reason why it was so easy to trust them. I'm glad our class was able to cheer for each other and try to break down personal opinions.
I was shocked when I first saw the wall, but it turned out not to be so bad. I am not very strong so I was afraid of not being able to get over the wall (especially the second day) but all the lifters did such a good job that I made it over safely. I tried to go near the beginning to get it over with and after I got to the otherside it was really fun cheering on other classmates and watching them succeed as well!
I thought it was really fun. I think we did a good job working together to figure out how to make it work. And I think everyone was encouraging and we worked together well. -Anna Kuzma
This week was a little hard for me. I'm extremely scared of heights and falling. I feel that this activity gave me a new trust and respect for the whole class. Everyone was extremely supportive and encouraging. I really liked how despite people's fears everyone attempted to get over the wall. Overall, it was a really good activity.
This week was kind of hard for me, I'm afraid of heights and falling. I really liked how everyone was so supportive and encouraging. It was amazing to see everyone come together and help out the people that were having a hard time. It truly gave me a new trust and respect for the whole class. Overall, I think this was great activity. -Erin Peiss
I feel like the wall climbing activity brought us closer as a class. The first day we were more concerned about just getting people over the wall, not making sure everyone felt safe and secure. I personally was so terrified when I stepped in Tim and Eric's hands that I subconsciously grabbed their hair! The second time, we thought more about what was best for everybody in the class. I felt much safer and was able to be more trusting because I had experience from the first day. This was definitely one of my favorite activities so far!
Getting over the wall was pretty hard because one, I had to balance across a small area two or three feet while people kind of carry me across and two, people watch you so it's kind of nerve wrecking. But watching the class get to the other side with team work and encouragement was heart warming to see. The second day was easier and everyone seemed more relax and willing to accept the help of others to get to the other side. Showing we kind of pulled together as a class a bit. A small step towards trusting each other. -Jaimie Chung
I thought climbing the wall was really scary because I was afraid of falling off of it once I got to the top but im glad that I was able to trust my fellow classmates and get over the wall!I'm also really proud of our class becuase we helped everyone get over the wall and I think it brought us all closer and helped us trust everyone more. -Sarah Bounab
Personally, i loved this activity. I thought it was awesome that the second day we did this we all came together and really rebuilt trust that had been broken down the day before. I felt really bad when there were people that didnt feel comfortable going because of things that had been said in our own class. But after everyone went over it felt amazing. Like we accomplished something! It was hard for me to at first trust all the people involved in lifting people but when i saw it done and knew they wouldnt drop me i wasnt worried anymore.
I really liked this activity and I'm really proud of our entire class for trusting our classmates to help us get over the wall. I know a lot of us, including myself, were scared that we were going to fall, but it's really great that we all got past our fears and were able to trust our classmates. -Lauren Burke
I think we all did really well with getting over the wall. We all were there for each other and helped everyone feel safe. I really liked the activity, gave all of us the change to see what it will be like once we move on to bigger things. I wasn't scared with this one because i true everyone in the class. Frannie Joyce
