If you really knew me reaction

Let us know about this assignment, what impact has it had on you? Think about the writing of it and listening to others and listening to your own if it has been read?

  1. I really like the If You Really Knew Me papers because it's interesting to hear about things that have happened to people that are in our class. For me, writing it and listening to it being read was relatively easy because mine wasn't anything all that deep. I think it would help to know who wrote which paper because even though we know someone in our class said it, it's hard to connect with them when you don't know who it is. However, of course some people are sharing things that they don't want others to know they wrote which is totally fine too.

  2. I think this is really cool and it helped me a lot because now I know what other people have gone through and that makes me more careful about what I joke about in class with friends. It was weird to write them because I didn't know what to say.

  3. I like listening to these because even if I don't know who the writer was I can still draw a connection to each of the papers no matter how big or small and it makes me feel closer to the class in general. I liked writing it as well because I was able to put somethings out that I would like people in the class to know about me.

  4. I really liked the if you really knew me papers. I think they gave everyone an opportunity to put themselves out there if they wanted to. My paper wasn't read yet but I kinda wish it had been just because I put myself out there through it. It's cool that people are this comfortable sharing stuff in our gym class. When some of them were being read I could really connect to some of them and I liked that. I think everyone should have to take some kind of class that does this in high school because it's an amazing experience. This gym class is basically awesome.

  5. I'm really bad with the whole "sharing feelings" thing and allt that jazz so I kind of went with a more humorous approach. But it was still really cool to hear everyone else's serious ones. Plus those mats we got to lay on were super comfortable.

  8. It was nice to be able to hear people's true thoughts. You realize that you are not alone in some things although you may feel like it.

  9. I like listening to these because first of all it's anonymous. It could be anyone in the classroom, but I wouldn't know who. It was cool to hear what other people had to comment on what they can relate to with me. Things I would have never known!

  10. I liked hearing the "If You Really Knew Me" stories because it showed me that I have a lot of things in common with the people in our class. This activity's been good for me because I get to know things about people that I can't know just from looking at them or having a quick conversation.

  12. oops, I used my google account^
I liked sitting in class and hearing about the lives of others. The anonymous factor is really nice too, because otherwise, some people would be afraid to list the things they did. Starbucks is also noticably a big part of people's lives in our class.

  13. This is a fun activity. I like how I have found similarities with myself and other anonymous people in class. I personally got extremely excited when I found out there is another vegetarian in class! I can't wait to read more!

  15. I actually enjoyed this If You Really Knew Me project. I found it really interesting to listen to them, because some of the things I shared in common with the person, while other things I had no idea happened to anyone. The fact that they are anonymous also makes it more effective, because people can open up more. I thought this was a good activity and helped our group bond even more.

  16. It was interesting to get inside of my classmates eyes and see behind the closed doors a little bit. I respect the people who are alright with sharing deep and personal things about themselves. You guys rock

  17. I really liked the If You Really Knew Me's. I only got to hear some of them, but it was really cool to hear about somethings people have gone through and goofy things people felt like sharing. I think not knowing who some of them are makes it interesting. Some people made them so you could figure it out if you already kind of knew them... mine was easy to figure out it was mine once you got to the second thing.

  18. I really like this activity because people aren't afraid of writing down what they really want to since its anonymous. It's interesting hearing about other peoples lives and finding things we have in common with each other.

  19. This activity gave me insight into other peoples' lives and what they have gone through. Mine hasn't been read yet so I can't comment on what it feels like to have yours read out loud. Some people in class shared deep thoughts or events that have occured in their lives. I have a lot of respect for those people because that is not easy to do even if it is annonymous. While I wrote mine I pretty much just wrote down whatever came to my head. It was all pretty light and funny stuff, and whether you took a humorous route or a more serious route it is nice to hear what other students have to say.

  20. Personally I can connect with something everyone has said. It may be something silly or something with meaning. I was surprised that I have something in common with all of the people in our class. And some in particular stand right out at me becuase they sound like I could have written them.

  21. I've really enjoyed this activity. It really helps with bonding. I personally can relate to some details in the If You Really Knew Me's even though I don't know who wrote it. The fact that I know someone else in the room shares an understanding, on even the silliest of things, makes me feel more connected with the class as a whole.
