Hello thank you all for a great 2 weeks.  I would like you to post a comment about how your clock talks went and if this activity is valuable?

  1. I actually really enjoyed this activity, and I hope that we get to do it more. It helped me learn names and it also taught me a lot about the people I talked to. And, as planned, it taught me to listen.

  2. I thought these clock talks were pretty effective. You were forced to look into the other person's eye and talk to them for a whole minute about yourself. I could see how this could be very awkward though.

  3. I like this activity too because we got to learn names and more about the person we were talking to. It'll be nice when we does this more so we can learn more about all of our partners.

  4. I liked this activity because I got the chance to learn a little more about some one that I don't really know and that make me feel more comfortable in the class then I initially did in the beginning. The eye contact was a little awkward, but it did help because then you really had to listen more. It was a lot of fun.

  5. I liked the clock talk activity because it forced us to talk to people that we don't normally hang out with in class. I think it will help to bring down levels of awkwardness is the class since we are getting to know more people and learn about things that we have in common with them.

  6. I think the clock activity was effective because we got to learn more about the people we talked to. It was hard to stay silent and just listen the whole time because we are used to actually having a conversation and asking questions/responding but it was nice to be able to just listen and hear about someone who you may have already known but not actually had a meaningful conversation with. The topics on the board are also really helpful if you cant think of anything to say.

  7. The clock was a really nice tool for the class. We got to go up and talk to people that we usually wouldn't talk to and it was really nice to finally learn my classmates names. (Yeah I'm kinda bad at that >_<) The listening activity was kinda cool actually. It was hard listening because I like asking questions....I look forward to the next activity.

  8. I really liked the clock activity because I got to learn a bunch of names. I think it's hard to just listen to someone without asking questions, so this was a really good way to be able to practice listening. I hope we get to do more of this activity.

  10. Forcing conversation is something I'm not that good at, but you get to batter it back and forth with someone you don't know that well and learn a bit about them. So it was alright.

  11. I liked this clock activity because I got to get to know people that I usually don't interact with. I honestly did learn some surprising facts about people I didn't know before! It was slightly awkward at times when my partner just ran out of things to say, so we ended up staring at each other...But overall, it was fun!

  12. I thought the clock talks were a little (/a lot) awkward, but still fun. The fact that both people need to squeam to talk about themselves for a minute was bonding.

  13. I agree with Kristi that the clock talks were kind of awkward because were not used to talking and not having the other person respond to what you are saying! But overall I thought I really got to know more about the person I was listening so it was a good experience.

  14. I liked this clock activity because I got to know more about my classmates and get the chance to talk to people I normally don't talk to. Normally in a regular gym class I was always with the same group of people, but this class gives me the chance to open up to other new people.

  15. I wasn't able to be there for this activity. From everyone else's comments, it seems like it was a really good activity to get to know people. With all the things we did last week, everyone's names are getting easier to remember and we are learning about each person.

  16. I think the clock talk went well. It was fun picking topics off the wall and not have someone tell us what to talk about. It gaseous the change to get to know stuff about the person that other may not know.

  17. I liked the clock talks. I was forced to talk to people that I normally don't talk to on a daily basis, and I know that amount is going to increase much more on the upcoming Friday. It taught me to really listen and look my partner in the eyes, which is an important part of communication.

  19. The clock time sharing activity was fun. Sorry for not posting earlier. It was really awkward but interesting how we unconsciously don't listen. Nice activity though.

  21. I enjoyed this activity because I got to talk to others and learn their names. I think its also good good to listen to others and talk to them. It's important to respect one another and show it by something as simple as listening to them.

  22. I was very suprised at how much information I was getting from my "Dates". I also found it very intresting to simple sit and observe. I think this activity is great for getting to know someone and you learn so much more in a faraction of the time it would take for a introductory conversation. Love it!

  23. The clock activity was really helpful in learning names. Also I learned a lot about the people that I listend to. The main concept of this activity was to listen, and I think that this helped everyone to listen better. I hope we can do this again soon.

  26. The clock activity was a little uncomfortable for me. My parenter was really interesting, but it was very awkward to stare at her eyes the whole time.

  27. My first partner was you, and I had to go first, so I had absolutely no idea what to say. I'm not going to lie; it was a little awkward. I'm sure as we get used to it, it will get easier, and we'll get to know people better.

  28. I thought this was an interesting activity. it definitely got you out of your comfort zone with new people, maybe someone you've never spoken to before. I like how you really had to listen to the person. it's a good way to improve your communication skills. even though it was a little awkward having to keep direct eye contact, it was fun.

  29. I think the clock talks were a new side to classroom interactions. Normally, when we introduce ourselves to each other during the beginning of the year, everyone does it sort of halfheartedly and only discuss what the teacher required. This gave us a lot more freedom and I feel that I actually got to know some people better.

  30. I loved this activity. Even though it only allowed us one minute to talk to people, i feel like I learned a lot about some of my peers I talked to. It was cool seeing how alike you can be to a person without even knowing it.

  31. I really think that the clock talks are good for out class, or for me at least. It helps us listen better because teenagers tend to not be 100% listening all the time. I think that this activity is very valuable for the adventures we are going to go through in this class.
